ME YA
pre-degree collection, 2010
The title of the collection ME YA stands for an affirmative attitude towards oneself and at the same time sounds like a feminine name.
The title of this collection refers to my initials `ME` and to the brand Y-3, which I admire for its fusion of fashion and sportswear. ME refers to myself and YA is a mixture of the German word "Ja" and the English word "Yes".

In the design process I worked with draping that seemed to be created in just one movement. The loosely draped fabric meets wide bands, some in contrasting colours, loosely reminiscent of sportswear. The collection was not designed for sports, but was influenced by the aesthetics of sportswear with the aim of creating a wearing experience that combines the freedom of movement and breathability of sport with the elegance of ready-to-wear.
